Meatballs with Oats and Ouzo
Divine, fluffy, and aromatic meatballs that will fill your home with their delicious scent as you make them and disappear as if by magic when served at the table. Kids love them, and so do adults. Make a large quantity because you will definitely need it...but even if you have leftovers (which you won't), you can make a wonderful sauce the next day to accompany your pasta!

Ingredients:
•    500g ground beef (twice ground)
•    250g ground pork (twice ground)
•    2 cloves of garlic, mashed
•    1 large ripe tomato, passed through a sieve
•    90g eggs
•    150g oats
•    1 large onion, finely chopped
•    30g ouzo
•    1 tsp dried oregano
•    1 tsp fresh basil, finely chopped
•    1 tsp fresh mint, finely chopped
•    1 tsp fresh parsley, finely chopped
•    Salt and pepper
•    Flour and olive oil for frying

Directions

Instructions:
1.    Take a bowl and place the ground meat inside. Make a small hole in the middle and add all the other ingredients.
2.    Mix well until all the ingredients are well combined.
3.    Cover with cling film and refrigerate for an hour to let the flavors meld.
4.    Shape small, round balls and lightly dust them with flour. Shake off any excess flour.
5.    Heat the olive oil in a pan and fry the meatballs until golden brown on all sides.
6.    Serve hot!
Yield: The recipe should make approximately 20-24 meatballs, depending on size.
