A delightful, original, and delicious appetizer to impress your friends. Serve it with toasted bread and white wine or even ouzo, and steal the spotlight.
Ingredients:
• 300g of goat's milk feta cheese
• 6 large grape leaves,
• 1 large tomato, peeled and thinly sliced
• Olive oil
• Pepper and oregano
• 1 sheet of parchment paper
Instructions:
1. Lay out the parchment paper on a flat surface.
2. Place the grape leaves with their veins facing up, in a cross shape, with the ends pointing towards you.
3. In the center of the grape leaves, place an additional grape leaf and a few slices of tomato on top.
4. Then, place the feta cheese on top, drizzling it with olive oil and sprinkling pepper and oregano.
5. Add a few more thin tomato slices on top of the cheese.
6. Finally, place the last grape leaf on top of everything and fold the grape leaves from the sides over the feta cheese, creating a neat packet.
7. Wrap it up like a gift using the parchment paper, and grill it or bake it in the oven for approximately 5 minutes (press each side gently to ensure it's soft).
8. Remove the packet from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes.
9. Carefully unwrap the parchment paper, place the packet on a plate, drizzle it with a bit more olive oil, and slice it carefully as the feta cheese will be soft and gooey.
10. Enjoy it with some toasted bread!
Note: You can replace the feta cheese with other cheeses like Brie, Camembert, Gruyere,mastello,Vermiou cheese, etc., if desired.
