An easy appetizer loved by all. Perfect for serving on a table or as a side dish during gatherings with a glass of ouzo or beer.
Ingredients:
3-4 zucchinis
200g all-purpose flour
2 tsp corn flour
1 tsp granulated garlic
1 tsp white pepper
1 tsp paprika
Batter:
240g room temperature water
270g all-purpose flour
180g room temperature beer
2 tsp dried yeast
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp corn flour
In a bowl, whisk together the beer, yeast, water, sugar, and corn flour until well combined. Add the all-purpose flour and mix until fully dissolved. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it rest in a warm place until the batter is activated and has risen.
Take the zucchinis, wash them, and cut them into small sticks about 1cm thick and 4cm long. In a separate bowl, mix together the all-purpose flour, corn flour, white pepper, granulated garlic, and paprika.
Dip the zucchini sticks one by one into the batter, ensuring they are fully coated. Carefully place them in a frying pan with hot oil, holding them halfway and waiting for the end to puff up and rise to the surface. This prevents them from sticking to the bottom of the pan. Alternatively, you can use a deep fryer.
Place the fried zucchini sticks on absorbent paper to remove any excess oil. Serve them with a yogurt dip.
Note: Adjust the quantity of the ingredients according to your desired serving size.
