Bring out your beer and wine and set the table! The ultimate appetizer is here to accompany your delightful conversations. Straight from Pelion, we present you the most delicious and spicy Spetzofai.
Our ingredients:
4 country-style sausages, cut into chunks
2 red bell peppers, cut into large squares
2 green bell peppers, cut into large squares
1 onion, thinly sliced
2 cloves of garlic, thinly sliced
Canned crushed tomatoes
1 tbsp tomato paste
1 glass of red wine
Salt, pepper, oregano, thyme
1 tsp sugar Olive oil
100 grams feta cheese (optional)
1 eggplant, sliced into small rounds (optional)

Directions

 

 In a large frying pan, heat some olive oil and saute the bell peppers, onions, and garlic (also add the eggplant if using). Once they soften, add the sausages and garlic. Deglaze the pan with red wine and add the crushed tomatoes and spices. Simmer for about 15 minutes until the sauce thickens and the flavors blend together.
If desired, crumble feta cheese on top before serving.
Serve plain or with rice or fried potatoes.
