Diples filled with spoon sweets
Incredible diples filled with spoon sweets, delightful bites that burst in your mouth! You can use any spoon sweet flavor you like or have made (such as fig, orange, lemon, chestnut, etc.) or even add small pieces of chocolate, loukoumi, and more.
Ingredients:
1 batch of diples dough (from the previous recipe)
Spoon sweet of your choice (orange, cherry, quince, fig, chestnut, etc.)
Vegetable oil for frying
Cinnamon, crushed walnuts, and syrup from the filling
For the syrup:
350g sugar
350g water
1 cinnamon stick
½ tsp cloves
½ lemon
In a small saucepan, bring the syrup ingredients to a boil for 2-3 minutes. Set it aside to cool.
On a cutting surface, chop the spoon sweet into small pieces.
Roll out the diples dough and cut it into wide strips. Place the filling along one side of the strip at intervals of 5 centimeters. Fold the other side over and carefully seal the dough around the filling using your fingers and a little water. They should resemble ravioli. Cut them one by one and repeat the process. You can add 2-3 types of filling (for example, I used chocolate, orange, fig, and chestnut).
Fry them until they turn golden brown, then remove them from the oil and immediately dip them into the syrup.
Place them on a wire rack, and once all are done, transfer them to a beautiful festive plate. Drizzle them with syrup from the fillings and sprinkle with crushed walnuts and cinnamon.
Wishing you success!
