Indulge in the allure of these fasting-friendly individual tahini pies without oil. They are easy to make and incredibly delicious. Filled with the rich flavors of tahini, walnuts, and cinnamon, they are a delightful treat for fasting days and beyond.
Our Ingredients:
500g all-purpose flour
100g bread flour
100g tahini
70g sugar
25g yeast
350g lukewarm water
For the Filling:
300g tahini
150g crushed walnuts
300g sugar
3 tsp cinnamon Powdered
sugar for dusting
In a bowl, mix the flours with the sugar. In a separate small bowl, mix the tahini with a little lukewarm water (from the total amount). Take 30g of lukewarm water (from the total) and dissolve the yeast. Make a well in the center of the flour mixture and pour in the tahini, yeast, and the remaining lukewarm water. Knead the dough until it becomes soft and pliable. Let it rest.
In the bowl with the tahini, prepare the filling. Add the cinnamon, crushed walnuts, and sugar. Mix well until a thick paste forms.
Next, take a piece of dough and roll it into a rectangle, approximately 20cm wide. Spread the filling evenly over the dough. Roll it up tightly to form a long, narrow roll. Stretch the roll to make it thinner. Coil it into a spiral shape like a snail. Transfer it onto a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
Continue this process with the remaining dough. Place the tray in a warm place to let the pies rise. Then, bake them at 180 degrees Celsius until they turn golden brown.
Once baked, dust the pies with powdered sugar. Enjoy!
