Poltiki Salata (Political Salad)

The well-known colorful Poltiki salad, aromatic and very, very tasty. It has exceptional properties, as it helps the heart, lowers blood sugar, protects our body from diseases thanks to its antioxidant ingredients, which help us lose weight and fight joint diseases, hypertension, and even cancer. If you add two to three ingredients for garnish, it becomes a festive salad for a celebratory table!

Our ingredients:

500g finely chopped white cabbage

3 stalks of celery, sliced thin (remove the fibers first)

3 cloves of garlic, finely chopped

3 grated carrots

1 red pepper, finely chopped

1 green pepper, finely chopped

juice of one juicy lemon

3 tbsp white vinegar salt and pepper

Directions

We put all our ingredients in a large bowl and mix them very well with the lemon. We cover the bowl and let the salad marinate for a while. Then, we strain the salad, add vinegar, salt, and pepper, and mix it well. We serve it with olive oil, salt, pepper, and vinegar, or...

We place our salad (without olive oil) in a clean jar in the refrigerator. When we want to serve the salad, we take a portion from the jar and serve it with salt, pepper, olive oil, and vinegar.

-You can add red cabbage, parsley, or make it spicy with hot pepper and paprika.

-The longer the salad stays in the fridge, the better it gets.

-When placing the jars in the fridge, place them horizontally and turn them every day so that the salad juices go everywhere.

-For garnish, you can add roughly chopped walnuts, pomegranate, pine nuts, raisins, sour apple, etc. This way, you will have a colorful salad for a festive occasion!
