Ingredients:

  • 1 kilogram of potatoes
  • 80 grams of butter
  • 150-200 grams of warm fresh milk

  1. Take the potatoes and wash them thoroughly on the outside. In a pot of water with a pinch of salt, boil the potatoes. Test the tenderness of the potatoes by pricking them with a toothpick.
  2. Avoid boiling or cutting the potatoes when they are cleaned, as they absorb too much water, resulting in a less flavorful mashed potatoes.
  3. Once the potatoes have softened, remove them from the heat and clean them while they are still warm. Mash them gradually, adding the butter, warm milk, salt, and pepper, while stirring gently. If desired, add nutmeg for extra flavor.
  4. If you want to serve the mashed potatoes with fish, you can replace the butter with olive oil.
