Our Ingredients:

5-6 ripe tomatoes, deseeded and chopped

1 large dry onion

2 cloves of garlic

5-6 basil leaves

1 tbsp tomato paste

? tsp sugar

½ cup red wine

Olive oil

Salt, pepper, and oregano to taste

Directions

In a saucepan, warm the olive oil. Saute the onion with the tomato paste, then add the garlic and deglaze with red wine. Next, introduce the tomatoes and sugar, and allow the liquids to evaporate over low heat. Incorporate the basil, oregano, salt, and pepper. Use an immersion blender to puree the sauce, allowing it to simmer briefly to meld the flavors."
